Safety and Security

We would like to let all parents and guardians know that we have comprehensive safety plans in place and conduct frequent safety drills for a variety of situations to keep our students safe.  The safety of students and staff is our number one priority. We would also like to remind students and parents that we encourage open lines of communication for reporting concerns to school staff members or administration when you feel that specific situations need to be addressed. There are a variety of ways that parents and students can report issues - both in person (any staff member) and via technology. The district’s School Crime Tip Line is 843-915-7767.  Click here for more information regarding the School Crime Tip Line.

District-required safety precautions/protocols are in place:

  • See Something, Say Something Report
  • Use of school buzz-in system
  • Metal detectors
  • Driver’s license checks
  • Issuance of visitor badges
  • Locked AND secure exterior doors
  • Locked classroom doors
  • Student supervision in all areas

Should you ever have any questions or concerns about our safety and security protocols, please use the above-mentioned sources of communication, or contact our assistant principal, Rich Reyes, at rreyes@horrycountyschools.net or 843-903-6300.  We are committed to the safety of your children.
