Principal's Message

Welcome to River Oaks Elementary School! Whether you're a returning family or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of the River Otters community.

I'm Rene Cazier, and I'm proud to serve as the principal here at River Oaks Elementary School. I have been working as an educator and school leader for over thirty years. I have been serving as the principal at ROE for the past seven years. Prior to this time, I was a principal in Nevada, where I spent most of my career. 

After receiving a bachelor of science degree I became a fourth grade elementary school teacher. I taught several grade levels as I continued my education and earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Later, when I became an instructional coach, I found a love for leading; this is when I completed my educational specialist degree in school leadership. 

River Oaks Elementary School is a Pre-K–5 elementary school with a focus on respect, opportunity, excellence and service. Our mission at River Oaks is to foster positive relationships with our students by providing a safe and nurturing environment while modeling high academic and social expectations. 

We believe all students will become lifelong learners, community leaders, and responsible members of society. This year, our school theme is “Soaring to New Heights.” We are committed to providing rigorous academics, promoting and celebrating student growth and strengthening our community partnerships. Our faculty and staff are excited to help your child achieve their greatest potential.

We know that student success is best achieved through strong partnerships between home, school, and the community. Families are encouraged to volunteer for Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) events and attend school activities as well as stay connected through our social media platforms. Your voice matters, and we are here to work together to ensure every student soars.
